James Bannister

Road to nowhere

Shot solely on a 5x4 large format camera, this project is a journey that follows the A30, the road that runs through out the southern most counties in the UK and the people who seek solace in solitude that live along it.  It covers the ideas of wandering, retreating from the world and a life that is hidden from view.

‘I never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude’

- HENRY DAVID THOREAU

You can see more of James’ work through his blog.

Lil post from the 3rd year show blog.

Went out for a drive in the sun today.  Found these vans out on the lizard, no one home.

I recently bought this book by Jamie Stoker, on Sophie’s recommendation, safe to say it didn’t disappoint.

I had a portfolio review earlier with London gallery owner Laura Noble from the LA Noble gallery and she had some amazingly helpful things to say. Unfortunately I was taking this photo as she pointed out her favourite image, so I have no idea which one she liked. I also went last to be polite but then we ran out of time.
